i'm afraid this is going to be my last post! it appears as though chang has pretty much abandoned me here and i'm losing motivation... i'll let you know if i put up a new site, but as for now i'm going to be really busy this semester [with 22 credit hours :( ] so i don't know if i'll have time. but we've had a great run of things... im me if you want to know how things are going- i'm online a bunch (just usually away) and i'd love to hear what you've been up to!

holy crap cortramid was amazing. i have a ton of great pictures (just ask sammie... who was both pierced AND tattooed while i was gone... ) the navy freaking rocks and i want to be on a submarine. let's hope the navy wises up and makes that possible by the time i graduate!

as for other things... i was home for what, 3 days before heading back out to champaign? and in those three days i was a huge jerk and i only saw like 5 people. kk, garret, taria (who was out of town for 2 of the three days anyway... ) i am so sorry that i didn't get a chance to see you guys- i heart you please forgive me! :)

packing up everything was a bitch, and i'm pretty sure jess still has half of my wardrobe... but that's allright. i've got the necessitites i think.

mop is going well. i'm tired as all hell though. these candidates lack motivation and i've lost my voice (seriously, if by some miracle i'm able to talk to you this week, you will understand) oh but yeah, my phone is pretty much off limits being that i'm with these candidates about 18 hours out of the day. blah!

anywho, being that i actually do have a couple hours away from them i am going to take a nap now. hopefully i'll have a lot more to say next time! until then

and i have no idea if this is even going to work, but here goes!

san diego is so damn amazing i absolutly LOVE it here!!! it hasn't rained yet, it's never too hot, only chilly at night and there is hella stuff to do. i'll try to touch on what i've been doing, but trust me the pictures will do a lot better job than i ever could (so far i've used up 4.5 cameras)

anywho, after sub week was aviation week and i flew in a t-34 and an sh-60f (which is essentially identical to the blackhawk... only here in the Navy we call in the seahawk for obvious reasons) both flights were amazing (i didn't throw up!) AND i got stick time and did loops and a rolls and barrel rolls and all sorts of stuff in the t-34 (which is what all naval aviators fly before they pick whether or not they go helos, jets, or props) and i got to fly ALL OVER the coast in the sh-60f and the lieutent told me i was a natural... however i'm pretty sure he was lying.

after aviation was marine week aka Navy Appreciation weeks bc hot damn did i appreciate the navy a hell of a lot more after a week of marine corps bullshit. our sgt was such a bitch! but our gunny was the shit so that made up for it. that week we went on a hump (not that kind, it's where you walk around up and down hills with your packs on and your m-16s and you sweat forever... we only went 5 miles) and we shot off weapons (i personally did the m-16, 260 golf, SAW, and 50 cal, but some got to shoot off the SMA and grenade launcher) we went in the water on an amphibious vehicle and slept out on isomats in that damn field where i froze and ended up cuddling up to the girl next to me (named nicole who was Anne Shiffermiller's roommate at Marquette!!! coincidence or what!??!) well that's a whole story. anyway we did more stuff too but my time is limited.

this week is SWO week and today i was on a frigate and i got hella sunburnt on the flight deck. yesterday we goofed off in some coastal surface warfare anti-terrorist boats which was i have to say fun as hell. tomorrow is firefighting and then who knows what else.

okay my computer time is up in like 3 minutes, you'll have to come over and see pictures and hear stories!!

so yeah, since i'm moving out...in like 2 months, i'm gonna get all this extra money! i'm gonna go crazy and buy a mac ibook, a digital camera, and a priner! wahoooo...can't wait! i talked to molly last night, and it sounds like she's having a great time in cali! but yeah, that's all i have for now.....people...get a livejournal...they're awesomez!

Ahoy!!!

holler, and boy does it rock here in San Diego. I can't believe the number of stories i've accumulated already. so here is a brief synopsis of what i've been up to so far...

First of the weather is incredible here and for the most part none of the officers have been jerks about the dress code so there have been quite a few... what's the word i'm looking for... eagles?

i am having a blast hanging out with sasha, but she's not in my company. I'm in Foxtrot company along with joel (who is also from the U of I) and we coordinate our activities with Echo (which amanda and jake are in.) However my dearest sasha is in Golf :( oh well, i've made a ton of friends (and by the way it's nearly impossible to remember everyones first/last names.)

so far i've gone to coronado beach (i'm stationed in the san diego base off 32nd street) and man was it badass. NOT TO MENTION i didn't get sunburnt... badly.

the malls here are fantastic, the beaches are incredible and the gas lamp district is fantastic! we get liberty on monday thru friday when our current *community* weekday ends. yesterday i was in the wet trainer for damage control of a submarine and last night i spent aboard the USS Pennsylvania- a submarine. so in case you haven't figured out by now i'm on sub week. next week is aviation, then *gasp* marine week and finally surface warfare.

the boys on the subs are hilarious, i'll tell you some fun stories later.

being in uniform blows, but when your day is over you are free on liberty and can wear whatever, mon i was free at 4:30, yesterday i was overnight on the sub, and today i'm done at 1230. badass huh?

sunday night me sasha (amanda ann dan murph jp and patrick) went out to old town for mexican and we got to meet up with brett lippold who was a lot of fun. but that night got a lot more interesting than just that... on the way home we took the trolly and well, to make a long story short there was a guy on our train who was totally coked out and staring at us while playing with his knife and pointing it at us. he came up right next to us and started muttereing things like "you don't know the whole story" and then some of the guys pushed him off the train. the story is better than that but i have to go now.

call my mom or me for details.

CRAZY PARTY

so i was hanging out with teresa and katie(the girls upstairs) in their room, and jake(the gay dragqueen next door) came up and told us about a party down university st. so we all got really drunk and went. and by we i mean the girls, cause i only had a shot of vodka....i was the sober driver. the party was awesome....there were underground bands in the basement, but we didn't check it out. i saw a lot of AI kids there...so a few people i know....people were running around naked, so yeah....now i'm home....sorry...this was a boring post...u just had to be at the party...i can't really describe the style....
